- You need 2 cups of boiled, peeled and mashed potatoes.
- You need 1 tbsp of oil.
- Prepare 2 tsp of ginger-green chilli paste.
- It's 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
- It's 1 tbsp of chopped coriander.
- You need 2 tsp of lemon juice.
- You need of oil for deep-frying.
- You need to taste of Salt.
- It's 2 tsp of sugar.
- It's 1 cup of besan.
- It's pinch of soda bi-carb.

Gujarati style Batata vada instructions
- Heat the oil in a pan, add the ginger-green chilli paste, turmeric powder, coriander, lemon juice, potatoes, sugar and salt, mix well.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions.
- Roll out each portion into a round and keep aside.
- Heat the oil in a kadhai. Dip the potato rounds in the prepared batter and deep-fry a few at a time on a medium flame, till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides.
- Drain absorbent paper and serve hot with green chutney..
