Misal Pav step by step
- Add sprouts and potato in a pressure cooker with one cup of water and salt and boil it until 2 whistles. Let it cool down itself..
- To make spice mix, take all the ingredients in a pan except from desiccated coconut and roast it on medium heat for 5 minutes. Now add dessicated coconut and mix it well and roast it for another 1 minute and turn off the heat. Let it cool down. Now grind it to a powder in a mixer..
- To make misal, heat oil in a pot and add mustard seeds. When it crackles, add hing, curry leaves and finely chopped onion. Cook it for 2 to 3 minutes until onion changes colour. Now add ginger, garlic and green chilli paste to it and cook for another 2 minutes. Now add turmeric, chilli powder, cumin coriander powder and prepared spice mix along with salt and mix everything well..
- Add chopped tomato to the onion and spice mix and mix it well and cook it until tomato is cooked nicely. Now add boiled sprouts to it and mix everything well. Add 4 cups of water and lemon juice. Let it cook on medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes..
