- You need 5 cups of flour.
- Prepare 1 of 1\2 cup butter.
- Prepare 1 of 1\2 tsp salt.
- It's of Cold water to make a soft dough.
- You need 1 of egg.
- It's of Diced onion.
- Prepare of Diced carrot.
- Prepare of Diced Irish potatoes.
- It's of Seasonings.
- You need of Spice.
- You need of Minced meat.
- Prepare of Egg wash.
- Prepare 1 of 1\2 tbs bp.
Roll out remaining pastry to fit top of pie; place over filling. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper, and set aside. Crack an egg into a bowl. Use a fork to break the yolk.

- In a bowl sift flour and baking powder, then add salt and butter mix all to make crumbs, then break one egg and add cold water to make a soft dough. Put in a freezer to chill for 20 minutes..
- For the fillings,on the stove to a medium heat, in a sauce pan add oil and diced onions, then let it fry for some seconds, then add the minced meat,add the seasoning and spices then stir and let it cook for some minutes..
- In a separate sauce pan add water then boil the diced carrots and potatoes, let it cook for some minutes and then drain it..
- When the minced meat is ready, add the cooked carrots and potatoes, then stir and off the stove..
- Take out the dough and roll then with a meat pie cutter, cut the circle and add 2 tbs of the filling and close it.transfer in a baking tray lined with a foil paper, with a brush, brush the surface with egg wash..
- Preheat the oven to 250° and bake for 29 minutes until golden brown. Take it out of the oven and let it cool then serve and enjoy..
Place the chilled (frozen or refrigerated) meat pies on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the egg wash. The filling of the pie is as I mentioned simple. I mix diced potatoes, onions, shallots and minced garlic along with the ground elk meat. Then season the combination with aromatic French tarragon, parsley and a pinch of salt.
