Meat pie II. I got the recipe from my husband's mother. She is French so I believe this is a French Meat Pie. Beef, pork, and potato are all nicely spiced and baked into a pie.

- Prepare 6 cups of flour.

Using your favourite pie dough recipe or purchased pie dough, roll out the dough and place in a pie pan. Fill the pie pan with the meat and potato filling. Do not over-stuff and pack down the filling. Cover the pie with a second piece of pie crust and crimp the edges, creating a seal.
Meat pie II step by step
- In a clean bowl, sieve in the flour, add pinch of salt, sugar and butter..
- Add in baking powder and mix until crumby..
- Add in eggs and water and mix to form a dough..
- Transfer to a clean surface and knead for 10 mins. Do not over knead. Allow dough to rest while you make the fillings.
- Let’s make our fillings😁.
- In a pan, add veg oil, then add in onions and crushed scotch bonnet, garlic and green pepper..
- Stir fry for 2 mins, then add in minced meat. Stir until it is no longer pale.
- Then add in curry, thyme, black pepper and seasoning cube.
- Add your carrots, then add water and allow to cook for 10 mins. Then add your cooked Irish potatoes.
- After 3 minutes, dilute corn flour in water and drizzle in your filling. This allows the filling to become and stay moist even after baking. Allow to cook for 2 mins. Then turn off heat.
- Allow filling to cool then we start filling💃🏽😁 Once it’s cooled, divide dough into pieces and roll it flat.
- Get your meatpie cutter, (if you don’t have one just use a round object, cut the dough, add your fillings, brush edges with egg and seal. Then you can use a fork to press down the edges) place dough on cutter and add your filings.
- Use egg to brush the edges and close.
- Arrange on a baking tray and bake for 25 mins. Enjoy😋😋.
